What do I need to apply for an insurance policy?

Different products have different documentations, however, the basic documents required for all the products are as listed below:

  • Completed insurance application form
  • National ID / Passport
  • KRA PIN
  • Premium Payment confirmation
  • Proof of Asset to be insured: e.g. logbook copy or a valuation report, copy of property title deed etc.

When does my cover start?

Your insurance cover begins once your application is submitted, verified, and payment is received. You'll be issued a Cover Note immediately, followed by a full Policy Document within 30 days.

What is included in my policy document?

How do I know when my policy is due for renewal?

We’ll remind you 90, 60, 30, and 7 days before your policy expires via SMS, email, or phone. You can also check at your bank branch.

Can I pay my premium in installments?

Yes! You can opt for Insurance Premium Financing (IPF) from SBM Bank. This allows you to pay premiums in monthly installments while still enjoying full cover.

How do I make changes to my policy?

Changes (like adding items, updating contacts, or switching covers) can be done by:

  • Sending a signed request via email
